3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- be well versed in technical documentation, prepare ordinary building plans and technical blueprints;
- judge the qualities of building materials and other related materials from technical, economic, utility, aesthetic and ecological points of view;
- judge the quality of materials that are brought in and their economical application in manufacture, including evaluation of the quantity and quality of work;
- know the principles of appropriate storage for building materials and products;
- handle servicing and making adjustments to common equipment found on building sites, additionally know how to perform routine maintenance procedures for machines and equipment;
- design and generate records for building technology, and direct the operation of building machines;
- manage the activities of the working collective according to technical documentation of the technological procedure;
- know the responsibilities of the foreman of the building operation;
- apply principles of economics, market-based economies, and knowledge of the psychology of work and team leadership.
