3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language;
- effectively organize and manage and participate in a team, including the ability to lead a team and cope with problematic situations;
- know how to use information and ICT, have basic ICT skills;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- organise his/her workplace and use protective personal and work tools;
- choose the right cutting and polishing tools, instruments and equipment, fix and set wheels and perform simple maintenance of machinery;
- independently hand cut, grind, polish, drill holes and grind bottle necks and stoppers and other medium-sized products with a normal or standardised cut;
- make cuts on colour and laminated glass, cut, smooth and polish edges and make different types of design;
- check cuts and laps and professionally correct any defect and inaccuracy;
- cut ornaments, simple and decorative lettering and to make different types of design, using different techniques;
- engrave using natural and synthetic wheels as well as abrasive-fed copper wheels;
- know the technique of drawing and point-cutting using a diamond point;
- evaluate the quality of semi-finished and finished products, pack and expedite products.
