3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
  • educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
  • adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
  • work with information, use ICT;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
  • know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • conduct oneself in public and deal with citizens in a civil manner, though decisively, in accord with the legal and general ethical norms and social etiquette;
  • behave promptly, decisively and fairly in situations threatening the health of citizens, provide essential first aid;
  • have a command of and correctly apply self defence procedures and techniques;
  • know the principles of constitutional law and criminal law, to have a general overview of other legal branches;
  • know the standards and origins regulating the legal position of municipalities and the municipal police including the local legal rules associated with the activities of protectors of public order;
  • work with the legal rules and sources of law;
  • know the basics of criminal science and service training;
  • have the basic knowledge and skills necessary to fight against socially pathological phenomena and to help citizens in difficult situations;
  • apply the knowledge of psychology and social communication skills when resolving work situations and in one's personal life.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate can find work in middle management positions in the area of safeguarding public order.
Examples of possible jobs: professional worker in the municipal police or individual kinds of services in the state police, state administration and at private security services.
