3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • take responsibility for completion of tasks in work or study;
  • adapt own behaviour to circumstances in solving problems;
  • be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
  • understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
  • communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least A2+ of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
  • cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
  • be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;
  • work with the means of information and communication technologies, exploit adequate sources of information, handle information effectively;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;

  • exert fundamentals of health protection, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety;
  • exert norms and prescriptions in the field.

Vocational competences:

  • carry out work activities in horse breeding in relation to farriery;
  • perform basic farriery activities;
  • work out or repair manually different types of horses hoes on regular, irregular and diseased hooves;
  • work with the technical documentation;
  • use appropriate technological processes;
  • produce simple machine parts, restore and maintain the operational reliability of machines and equipment;
  • select and use appropriate materials;
  • work in accordance with applicable legislation and standards for the animal husbandry, driving motor vehicles and welding;
  • acquire vocational readiness to drive motor vehicles of groups T, B, and C, and professional preparation to pass the examination under the commissioner in the range of basic welding courses ZK111 W 01 or ZK 135 W 01, ZK 311 W 01 and ZP 311 8 W 31 (training);
  • ensure safety and health at work;
  • strive for the highest quality of the work, products or services;
  • act economically and in compliance with the strategy of sustainable development.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate is employed especially as farrier in the horse breeding for the purpose of towing, rehabilitation, recreation, sports -riding and racing. He/she can be employed in the treatment of hooves livestock. After gaining the necessary experience in the field is ready for private enterprise in the area.
Another employment opportunity can be find in the repair of agricultural equipment for plant growing and livestock farming, and even at workplace dealing with renovations or production of parts in particular by shaping metal by heat and heat treatment of metals. Engineering background enables graduates employment opportunity in related fields of machine manufacture, repair and maintenance. Part of the education is preparation for obtaining driving licence of groups T, B C.
