General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
  • educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
  • adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
  • work with information, use ICT;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
  • know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • be well versed in standard software and hardware equipment and work with common peripheries;
  • design, implement and administrate local computer networks;
  • install and administrates operating systems for work stations and servers;
  • administrate software applications;
  • design and apply data security systems against misuse of information and systems that protect against destruction;
  • take charge of applying algorithms for tasks and masters the basics of programming, including creating a user interface for relational databases;
  • process and present graphic information;
  • create web pages;
  • know and apply legal standards connected with the use of software and with handling information;
  • know economic concepts and principles, including accounting and related legal standards.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate can take a job in processes of designing, implementing, directing, administrating, and providing complex hardware and software solutions in the area of setting up systems of information and communications technology, in all economic sectors.
Examples of possible job opportunities include: support staffer for IT users at the workplace, applications administrator, operating systems administrator, network administrator, programmer, dealer or purchaser of IT technologies, etc.
