3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • communicate independently and fluently in the mother tongue, give reasons for his/her own attitude;
  • be informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • know the principles and values of a democratic society and basic civil and labor rights;
  • apply basic mathematical skills to solve simple tasks;
  • deal adequately challenging problem situations, work in a team;
  • have the knowledge and skills needed for health care, provide the necessary first aid;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • have an overview of the social security system in the CR;
  • provide personal care for social services clients, help clients in carrying out the day-to-day tasks of caring about themselves and in keeping in contact with a social environment;
  • help families care about children;
  • ensure care for the clients' household or environment, ensure shopping and general personal services for the clients;
  • communicate with the client in a suitable manner, uphold the clients' rights,
  • take part in the preparation or provision of meals for clients;
  • carry out auxiliary work during the preparatory processing of food and when making meals;
  • independently prepare simple dishes and beverages;
  • carry out simple repairs to garments by hand and on a machine.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate can find work as a social services worker in out-patient or hospice social facilities, in charity facilities and in home care.
Examples of possible jobs: carer, personal assistant, home help.
