3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- to be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- to formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language;
- to effectively organize and manage and participate in a team, including the ability to lead a team and cope with problematic situations;
- to know how to use information and ICT, have basic ICT skills;
- to be able to use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- to act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- to apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- carry out hygiene care for patients including the basic prevention of bedsores and making the beds;
- help when feeding the patients, help in feeding those patients that are lying or cannot move and feed them if necessary;
- care about flushing out patients including any cleansing enema that may be needed;
- measure body temperature, height and weight;
- accompany patients to professional examinations and treatment;
- care about the patients' environment;
- take part in ensuring play activities for children;
- treat the bodies of the deceased;
- ensure the application of heat and cold;
- carry out rehabilitation treatment including preventing disorders due to immobility;
- carry out self-help exercises to increase patients' independence;
- take part in the receival, checking, handling and storing of medical aids and laundry, disinfect and sterilise it and ensure there are sufficient supplies;
- assist particularly when redressing bandages, administering medicinal preparations including injections and infusions, taking biological materials, introducing a urinal catheter and flushing out the bladder and probes and caring for the catheters.
