3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language;
- effectively organize and manage and participate in a team, including the ability to lead a team and cope with problematic situations;
- know how to use information and ICT, have basic ICT skills;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- read construction drawings and understand the basic design documentation of structural engineering;
- prepare simple technical drawings for tiling;
- put simple walling under tiles;
- make base walling for tiles;
- make base concrete and concrete mixes for floor tiles;
- take over workplace and check and modify the base;
- choose the right materials for tiles, receive and store materials and evaluate their quality;
- calculate the size of tiled area and the consumption of tiles and supplies;
- use tiling tools and machinery;
- prepare a laying plan and measure out and start the tiling of walls and floors;
- prepare mortar and smoothing, binding and joint materials for tiling;
- tile interior and exterior walls and floors of buildings and terraces and tile swimming pools with ceramic and natural thin-layer materials on different bases, including laying of additional elements (dilatation, finishing and foot moulding, inspection port, etc.);
- make hydro-insulation layers with the putty knife;
- make simple flooring of concrete or terrazzo tiles laid in a sand, mortar or concrete bed;
- repair and maintain tiles;
- keep written documentation related to tiling.
