| 3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language;
- effectively organize and manage and participate in a team, including the ability to lead a team and cope with problematic situations;
- know how to use information and ICT, have basic ICT skills;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- read building plans and be well versed in the design and technical documentation, prepare simple sketches;
- know the types of materials used in the field and their certification, their technical qualities and the ways they are used;
- manage the technological processes and organization of work when cleaning chimney and waste gas flues, when firing up chimneys, and when installing and cleaning fuel-burning heating devices for local heating;
- create plans for and carry out plans to connect appliances to the smoke ventilation system, including calculation of the parameters of the smoke ventilation;
- clean and perform technical examinations of appliances and smoke ventilation on commercial premises and manufactories including factory chimneys;
- clean and perform technical examinations of furnaces for central heating systems;
- measure chimney draught, eliminates impediments and blockages in ventilation ducts;
- perform examinations for building approval inspections and look into smoke ventilation systems, and give reports about their results;
- perform fire safety inspections;
- measure the composition of gaseous products of combustion and evaluates the measured values, also including their enumeration;
- perform minor repairs to heating systems;
- construct multilayer chimneys, including a calculation of their parameters;
- line chimneys, including calculating the parameters of the linings;
- repair and fix up chimneys on rooftops and set up supplementary constructions;
- have basic knowledge of the construction and maintenance of hearths and fireplaces.
