3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

General competences:

communicate independently and fluently in mother tongue, give reason for his own attitude;
work in a team;
use basic mathematics when needed;
apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

be well versed in building and drawing documentation;
carry out simple calculations of material consumption and the calculation of paint quantity;
choose, use and take care of tools and utilities;
be well versed in technological procedures of house painting and painting job, propose work procedures;
prepare various kinds of surfaces for painting and coating;
choose paints and prepare them for use;
spread paint by using various painting and vanishing technologies;
decorate houses by using the technology of lining, coat -spraying, rollerwall design painting and decorating systems, etc.;
paint metal and wooden constructions and simple furniture;
decorate walls and ceilings with wallpapers;
assess working conditions for house painting and painting jobs such as air temperature, humidity, etc.;
be well versed in simple price issues of this filed;
monitor and assess quantity and quality of performed work;
keep the rules of occupational safety, fire prevention and safety and hygiene at work;
assess influence of work activities on environment, correct waste treatment.

4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE

The graduate can carry out house painter and painter professions or can be employed in all kinds building companies. After having obtained necessary work experience he or she can start their own business in house painting, painting and varnishing fields.
