3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

General competences:

be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
work with information, use ICT;
use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

carry out security and control activities, distinguish illegal behaviour;
carry out the essential operations for saving lives and people's health or people's and enterprises property;
deal with a client, use one's knowledge from psychology and pedagogy;
be familiar with legal norms, with the public administration system and the system of security organs;
carry out local investigations in the field, use one's knowledge of geography and sociology;
permanently pay attention to one's physical and mental readiness.

4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE

The graduate can find employment in jobs in which the work is tied in to knowledge of the correct application of the legal regulations in the CR in matters of public order and internal security, such as in security corps, in public administration, in protection of businesses, security agencies, in the organs of an integrated protection system etc. To carry out certain tasks they must meet other legally set conditions for instance age, special training, health and mental eligibility.
Examples of possible jobs: security worker, police inspector, police constable, security worker in the prison services or warders or as judicial guards.
