3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language;
  • effectively organize and manage and participate in a team, including the ability to lead a team and cope with problematic situations;
  • know how to use information and ICT, have basic ICT skills;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • be qualified to sell industrial goods including preparing and demonstrating the goods to the customer and providing advisory services;
  • make out and compile sales documentation for the goods sold;
  • package the goods in various ways including gift wrapping;
  • deal with complaints in accord with the valid legislation;
  • be sociable and behave professionally when dealing with customers and business partners;
  • independently operate the cash register and sales points systems;
  • accept cash and cashless transactions;
  • carry out the administrative agenda connected to working on the cash register;
  • balance a sales point and take away the cash;
  • select and receive goods, checking them;
  • store and treat goods, handle packaging in accord with the health and safety regulations;
  • work with devices, machines and other equipment in the outlet;
  • keep documents on the movement of goods on the premises;
  • make a physical and accounting inventory of goods and deposit/return packaging;
  • make the basic promotional and arrangement activities associated with presenting and selling goods;
  • set up offers and use the sales support materials;
  • negotiate the purchase of goods;
  • calculate the cost of services;
  • make out business and trade letters in accord with standard procedures.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate can find work as a salesperson or cash-desk operator in business as an employee in all kinds and types of businesses in the area of business. After gaining the necessary practice in the field they will be ready for private enterprise in trade.
