3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

General competences:

be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
work with information, use ICT;
use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

demonstrate good habits when using geodesic devices and tools;
use theoretical and practical skills in surveying the exact position of an object;
lay out circular and transition curves;
survey information for constructions (longitudinal and cross-sectional profiles);
stake out a construction site;
analyse ground and aerial photographs;
survey and prepare geometric plans;
show theoretical knowledge about calculating point coordinates;
apply basic knowledge about software used in geodesy and graphical systems;
make changes in the real estate cadastre;
apply basic knowledge about the labour economy and organization.

4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE

The graduate can occupy middle technical-economic positions in geodesy and the real estate cadastre - maintaining basic and detailed point coordinates, detailed mapping for making basic large-scale maps, surveying for map maintenance and for work in the real estate cadastre, surveying for industrial construction to prepare design documentation, and laying out and staking out actual buildings. After having obtained necessary work experience and other prescribed qualifications (certificates), he or she can do business in surveying.
Possible work positions: real estate cadastre officer, geodesic technician, geodesist, mining surveyor, and cartographic operator.
