3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language;
- effectively organize and manage and participate in a team, including the ability to lead a team and cope with problematic situations;
- know how to use information and ICT, have basic ICT skills;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- read construction drawings and be familiar with plans and technical documentation;
- make simple technical drawings and sketches;
- carry out the basic measurements and simple calculations relating to floor laying;
- prepare and use the necessary tools, equipment and aids and maintain them;
- ensure the optimum working conditions for floor laying such as air temperature, ventilation and lighting;
- use the materials, technical and performance norms;
- choose the correct technical procedure and work organisation;
- assess the suitability of the flooring materials;
- determine the necessary amount of materials, pick up and transport materials and prepare them before being used;
- repair and check the sub-floor;
- make floors from plastic, rubber, textile, cork, wooden, laminate and reactive flooring materials and linoleum in accordance with the prerequisite technological and work procedures and the provisions of the norms;
- make surface modifications to floors;
- use flooring assembly elements, join the floor to the surrounding constructions;
- treat and maintain finished floors.
