3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

General competences:

  • master different ways of learning and take responsibility for the development of one’s own potential in a lifelong perspective;
  • understand tasks or identify the core of a problem, apply various solutions, work independently and in a team;
  • apply advanced reading literacy skills to work effectively with information and to critically evaluate and interpret texts; 
  • communicate in one foreign language at least at B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), and actively develop one’s own language skills;
  • apply scientific, technical, IT and mathematical knowledge, skills and procedures in practical contexts and in solving problems in various areas of life; 
  • work safely and at an advanced level with digital technologies and their software, and keep up with their development; 
  • search for, process and critically evaluate information, use algorithmic thinking, communicate and collaborate in online environments, and create digital content and models; 
  • understand the basic principles of information systems, analyse their structure and functions, design data models and adapt interfaces to user needs; 
  • be well versed in different social and value systems, as well as social, political, legal and economic processes of everyday life, and demonstrate financial and media literacy; 
  • adapt to changing social, economic and technological conditions, and make responsible economic decisions;

  • choose optimal solutions in real-life work and personal situations based on the interconnection of environmental, economic and social factors;

Vocational competences:

  • project textiles, process the technical documentation to their manufacture, apply aesthetic feeling and creatively use new materials and processes when projecting textiles; 
  • analyze the quality of textile products and process the results in the form of protocols; 
  • paticipate in creating, implementation and modification of technological processes, monitor compliance with procedures and the progress of production operations; 
  • work with the technical documentation for assigning tasks to workers in the production of textiles, in the implementation of control processes and in  operational decision-making in the production of textiles; 
  • make linear or area textiles in at least one of the areas of production (spinning, weaving, knitting, fabric finishing); 
  • assess the impact of processed materials and used procedures on the desired properties of textiles; 
  • check the quality of the different sections of the production of textiles and cooperate in the development of control procedures and quality system; 
  • organize the division of tasks among workers, prepare documentation to determine costing and payroll; 
  • cooperate on analyses and organisation of production activities and ensure the smooth supply of processed material; 
  • keep operating records and documentation, cooperate in the development and application of standards and norms of labour consumption in textile manufacturing; 
  • follow fashion trends, make use of information sources and information technology. 

4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE

The graduate is employed in the middle management positions in the eld of textile industry in work activities related to the management of small business segments in the production of textiles, in the preparation of the production of textiles, as commodity expert and in the purchase and sale of textile materials and fabrics.

Examples of possible job positions: textile technologist - master, textile technician - dispatcher (production coder), textile engineer technologist in the production operation, the operator of the textile industry, textile quality technician, textile technician - technologist and textile design technician in the technical preparation of textile production, etc.
