3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
- cooperate with others in solving simple problems and situations;
- understand task assignments or identify the core of a problem, obtain the information needed to solve it, and propose a solution independently or under the guidance of others;
- express oneself clearly and independently in Czech, and justify one’s opinion;
- apply basic mathematical skills to solve simple practical tasks;
- work safely with digital technologies and their basic software;
- search for basic information in texts and other sources, understand task assignments, solve simpler problems, identify the information necessary for the solution;
- distinguish between different information systems and use them at the user level, enter data and search for and use them for one’s work;
- be prepared for lifelong learning and adapt to changing working conditions;
- strive for the highest quality of one’s own work;
- act economically and ecologically, in accordance with the principles of sustainable development;
- observe the principles of occupational health and safety, and fire protection.
Vocational competences:
- carry out preparatory work for the production of clothes, read the technical documentation, have knowledge of clothing materials;
- operate commonly used machinery and equipment in the sections of connecting, shaping and finishing process, and take care of them;
- work in accordance with prescribed technological processes;
- sew on a sewing machine the different parts of clothes products, perform assemblage of parts and components of clothes, manufacture garments or their parts, sew by hand when finishing products;
- shape clothes using reinforcing materials, perform inter-operational and final ironing;
- identify material defects, check seams and ironing, and correct faults;
- control separate parts and components of clothes products and control finished products;
- assess quality of the unfinished and finished products, assemble clothes products;
- ensure occupational safety and health at work, including fire prevention and stand out for quality of the work and products.
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE
The graduate is employed in performing specific work in the production of clothes in clothing companies.
Examples of possible jobs: dressmaker, seamstress of garment and piece products.
