3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

General competences:

  • master different ways of learning and take responsibility for the development of one’s own potential in a lifelong perspective;
  • understand tasks or identify the core of a problem, apply various solutions, work independently and in a team;
  • apply advanced reading literacy skills to work effectively with information and to critically evaluate and interpret texts; 
  • communicate in one foreign language at least at B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), and actively develop one’s own language skills;
  • apply scientific, technical, IT and mathematical knowledge, skills and procedures in practical contexts and in solving problems in various areas of life; 
  • work safely and at an advanced level with digital technologies and their software, and keep up with their development; 
  • search for, process and critically evaluate information, use algorithmic thinking, communicate and collaborate in online environments, and create digital content and models; 
  • understand the basic principles of information systems, analyse their structure and functions, design data models and adapt interfaces to user needs;

Vocational competences:

  • work out design documentation for individual and industrial production of clothing, model clothing by types figures; 
  • process the technical documentation for individual and industrial production of clothing; 
  • assess the properties of clothing materials and apply their knowledge in the design and technological preparation of production of a particular garment; 
  • set the consumption of clothing material, set the textile and small technical preparations for a given product or defined amount of textile products; 
  • determine the suitability of specific machines and equipment for manufacturing of a particular clothing product in individual and industrial production, use the overview of machines and equipment in the manufacture of clothing; 
  • assess products in terms of function, design, aesthetics and production costs; 
  • manage basic procedures of the process of clothing production and handle basics of the operating of clothing machinery and equipment; 
  • monitor the progress of unfinished garment with manufacturing process, perform analysis of defects and evaluate the quality of clothing products; 
  • apply the aesthetics in the preparation and production of clothing products; 
  • prepare documentation for the calculation of wages, cost calculation and perform technical and economic analysis; 
  • follow fashion trends, make use of information sources and information technology.

4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE

The graduate is employed in middle management in the field of clothing industry, in work activities associated with the preparation of clothing production and the manufacture of garments in clothing companies. 

Examples of possible jobs: clothing technician technologist, clothing technician of quality, clothing technician -cutter, after having obtained necessary work experience also as production foreman, clothing technician dispatcher, and operation manager of clothing production or of the purchase of clothing materials and sales of clothing products.
