3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

General competences:

  • cooperate with others in solving simple problems and situations; 
  • understand task assignments or identify the core of a problem, obtain the information needed to solve it, and propose a solution independently or under the guidance of others; 
  • express oneself clearly and independently in Czech, and justify one’s opinion;  
  • apply basic mathematical skills to solve simple practical tasks;  
  • work safely with digital technologies and their basic software;  
  • search for basic information in texts and other sources, understand task assignments, solve simpler problems, identify the information necessary for the solution;  
  • distinguish between different information systems and use them at the user level, enter data and search for and use them for one’s work;  
  • be prepared for lifelong learning and adapt to changing working conditions; 
  • strive for the highest quality of one’s own work;  
  • act economically and ecologically, in accordance with the principles of sustainable development;   
  • observe the principles of occupational health and safety, and fire protection.  

Vocational competences:

  • operate and perform routine maintenance of agricultural mechanization and maintain workshop equipment;  
  • work with hand tools, machines and equipment, and perform normal working operations needed to manufacture the product or to implement appropriate repairs;  
  • produce simple products according to technical documentation;  
  • perform common manual metalworking operations (filing, cutting, drilling, bending, riveting, etc.);  
  • use basic technology operations of machining, especially turning, milling, shaping and grinding;  
  • measure with standard gauges with sufficient precision;  
  • determine the causes of common disorders, conduct routine repairs and check the proper adjustment of the machine repaired;  
  • weld within the scope of a basic course in arc welding (using coated electrode or gas-shielded arc welding);  
  • drive motor vehicles of category T (tractor).

4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE

Graduates may find employment in agricultural repair and maintenance services, performing basic repair tasks. They carry out their own repairs, maintenance and adjustment of machines and equipment and participate in the production and refurbishment of components. Graduates may be employed in agricultural enterprises, as well as in engineering companies, forestry and transport.  

Examples of possible job positions: agricultural worker specialising in repair work, assistant agricultural machinery mechanic, agricultural service technician, maintenance and repair worker.
