3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
- master different ways of learning and take responsibility for the development of one’s own potential in a lifelong perspective;
- understand tasks or identify the core of a problem, apply various solutions, work independently and in a team;
- apply reading literacy skills to work effectively with information and to evaluate texts;
- communicate in one foreign language at least at A2+ level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR);
- apply basic scientific, technical, IT and mathematical knowledge, skills and procedures in practical contexts and in solving problems in various areas of life;
- work safely with digital technologies and their software, and keep up with their development;
- search for, process and critically evaluate information, use algorithmic thinking, communicate and collaborate in online environments, and create digital content and simple models;
- understand the basic principles of information systems, analyse their structure and functions;
- be well versed in different social and value systems, as well as social, political, legal and economic processes of everyday life, and demonstrate financial and media literacy;
- adapt to changing social, economic and technological conditions, and make responsible economic decisions;
- strive for the highest quality of one’s own work, services and products in accordance with technological procedures and quality standards;
- observe the principles of occupational health and safety, and fire protection.
Vocational competences:
- work with technical documentation, use computer applications for repairs and to determine optimal procedures, understand technical standards and regulations and comply with them when repairing machines and equipment;
- select and use appropriate materials for mechanical engineering production and repair activities in agriculture;
- apply suitable technological procedures for manufacturing and repair, using appropriate technological equipment;
- make simple machine components;
- restore and maintain operational reliability of machines and equipment;
- diagnose faults in agricultural machinery;
- assess wear levels and functional fitness of individual components with regard to optimal operation;
- keep basic records and carry out routine administrative tasks associated with repair activities;
- perform welding in at least two of the following courses: basic oxy-fuel welding course or arc welding (covered electrode or MIG/MAG welding) or training course for operating oxy-fuel welding equipment (manual flame soldering);
- drive motor vehicles of categories T (tractor), B (passenger car) and C (truck);
- follow technological procedures in crop production and animal husbandry, and operate and maintain agricultural mechanisation equipment;
- use plant protection products as a holder of a first-level professional competence certificate in accordance with applicable legislation.
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE
Graduates may find employment in agricultural machinery repair, manufacture and refurbishment of components, maintenance, adjustment of machines, fault diagnosis, and ensuring operational reliability of agricultural machinery and motor vehicles (especially tractors), including related mechanical engineering operations, forestry, transport, and construction sectors.
Examples of possible job positions: agricultural machinery mechanic, motor vehicle mechanic (especially tractors), motor vehicle driver (including trucks and self-propelled agricultural machines), combine harvester operator, welder, spare parts warehouse worker, service mechanic, self-employed entrepreneur providing services for agricultural mechanisation (including agricultural machinery sales).
