3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

General competences:

master different ways of learning and take responsibility for the development of one’s own potential in a lifelong perspective;
understand tasks or identify the core of a problem, apply various solutions, work independently and in a team;
apply advanced reading literacy skills to work effectively with information and to critically evaluate and interpret texts;
communicate in one foreign language at least at B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), and actively develop one’s own language skills;
apply scientific, technical, IT and mathematical knowledge, skills and procedures in practical contexts and in solving problems in various areas of life;
work safely and at an advanced level with digital technologies and their software, and keep up with their development;
search for, process and critically evaluate information, use algorithmic thinking, communicate and collaborate in online environments, and create digital content and models;
understand the basic principles of information systems, analyse their structure and functions, design data models and adapt interfaces to user needs;

Vocational competences:

operate conventional and numerically controlled machine tools for machining of workpieces;
adjust manufacturing machinery, equipment and lines (e.g. machining, forming) and technology-related handling equipment using the industrial and technological documentation;
clamp tools and manufacturing equipment and adjust their position;
create the CNC machine production programs;
implement the modification, correction and testing of programs for CNC machines;
introduce operators onto the service of the reconditioned production machinery, equipment and lines when performing the technological operations and instruct them in the necessary extent;
check the size, shape and relative position of surfaces and surface quality of workpieces;
set up working procedures, define working conditions, select instruments, tools, gauges and other work equipment for performing technological operations including the use of appropriate software;
distinguish machined materials according to their standardized designation, know their properties and take it into account in their treatment;
search for information in the standards, catalogues and other information sources;
display basic machine components using software in two-dimensional and three-dimensional views.

4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE

The graduate is employed in the field of middle management positions in engineering, in work activities related to the adjustment, operation and maintenance of a wide range of machinery, equipment and lines.

Examples of possible jobs: mechanical engineer, mechatronics engineer, process engineer, metal lathe hand, miller, metal grinder, driller, NC machine operator.
