3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
- understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
- communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
- be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;
- work with the means of information and communication technologies, exploit adequate sources of information, handle information effectively;

Vocational competences:
- possess comprehensive knowledge of the historical development of culture and artistic craftsmanship, and apply it effectively in their work;
- demonstrate proficiency in fundamental artistic expression techniques;
- apply acoustic principles and ensure optimal sound quality of musical instruments;
- actively research and utilise available sources of information regarding current developmental trends in artistic craftsmanship within the field;
- create technical drawings and comprehensive technical documentation for the construction of specific musical instruments in accordance with applicable standards and principles of technical aesthetics;
- utilise specialised application software for graphic representation and visualisation of three-dimensional objects;
- create schedules for individual work operations and demonstrate mastery of traditional technological procedures and techniques, understand the principles of musical instrument construction, and be able to prepare their manufacture;
- select appropriate types of basic and auxiliary materials for the manufacture of specific musical instruments with corresponding functional and aesthetic parameters, whilst considering the health safety of the product;
- construct musical instruments according to technical drawings or artistic designs, including their surface finishing;
- apply relevant standards and regulations in the field of heritage preservation;
- repair and restore original musical instruments;
- adhere to professional standards and practices;
- manufacture components of keyboard instruments and perform their surface finishing according to established technological procedures;
- construct pianos and upright pianos;
- restore and repair keyboard instruments;
- create primary and subsequent documentation for specific projects.
