3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • communicate independently and fluently in mother tongue, give reason for his own attitude;
  • seek out essential information from the text and other sources;
  • understand the task and solve simple problems, find the information necessary for the solution;
  • work or learn under supervision with certain autonomy, apply basic rules and procedures;
  • cooperate with others when solving simple problems and situations;
  • apply basic mathematic skills to solve simple tasks;
  • work with a personal computer and its basic and application software;
  • apply principles of safety and health protection at work, fire protection and fire prevention;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • have a basic knowledge of career opportunities in the labor market and of the job search process.

Vocational competences:

  • be knowledgeable about the basic areas of glass production;
  • follow the fundamentals of health, work hygiene, and fire prevention and safety;
  • be knowledgeable about the standards and technical materials for producing and decorating glass products;
  • choose proper raw materials, evaluate their quality, store them in accordance with established principles;
  • prepare the workplace, materials for glass production, equipment, necessary tools and aids for the given technological operation;
  • work with tools, operate machines and equipment and perform basic maintenance on them;
  • produce glass products at the required level of quality and in accord with the technological process, and perform suitable finishing operations;
  • know the basic technological procedures for both hand-making and machine methods of producing hollow glass and for decorating glass products;
  • exhibit manual ability and workmanship in producing glass products;
  • evaluate the quality of glass products, distinguish the products' faults, mark the products, wrap and prepare them for expedition; 
  • follow the principles of economic use of material, energies and equipment.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
 
The graduate may find work as an auxiliary worker in glass production, especially in machine production and hand-making of hollow glass and in decorating glass products. They may work in preparing and manipulating with raw materials and auxiliary materials, when shaping and decorating glass products and when performing surface finishing by employing basic decorative techniques. The graduate may find work in performing basic technological operations, machine and equipment maintenance, in sorting semi-finished and finished products, quality evaluation, wrapping and product expedition.
