3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • communicate independently and fluently in mother tongue, give reason for his own attitude;
  • seek out essential information from the text and other sources;
  • understand the task and solve simple problems, find the information necessary for the solution;
  • work or learn under supervision with certain autonomy, apply basic rules and procedures;
  • cooperate with others when solving simple problems and situations;
  • apply basic mathematic skills to solve simple tasks;
  • work with a personal computer and its basic and application software;
  • apply principles of safety and health protection at work, fire protection and fire prevention;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • have a basic knowledge of career opportunities in the labor market and of the job search process.

Vocational competences:

  • distinguish different types of basic and auxiliary materials according to their characteristics and functional attributes;
  • outline the main types of simple leather products;
  • understand the technical documentation of products, draw each part of the product according to the given dimensions;
  • manufacture working and cutting patterns of individual parts and components of the product, understand their numbering and marking;
  • select suitable basic and auxiliary materials for a simple product;
  • use the professional technical terminology;
  • prepare, separate and process materials to perform the assembly of parts and components of the product;
  • manufacture either manually or mechanically simpler products;
  • comply with the technological process;
  • demonstrate manual skills in the treatment and manual processing of material;
  • apply aesthetic feeling in the manufacture of products;
  • process waste materials in accordance with the increase of utilization of the natural leather;
  • operate, adjust and perform routine maintenance of leather machinery and equipment;
  • store materials, semi-finished and finished products;
  • control and adjust products for the customer;
  • perform basic quality control of leather materials, semi-finished and finished products.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate is employed in the field of leather goods production performing simple working activities as employee in large, midsize and small companies. He/she can find employment in work activities such as production of leather products both in individual and industrial manner, repair and restoration of leather products such as shoes, belts, cases, bags, belts or other leather products.
