3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- use blacksmithing tools, devices, equipment, and machines and know how to store and take care of them;
- know the properties of used materials and their behaviour during processing and choose suitable materials for a concrete product;
- know the technologies and techniques of manual metal processing, including heat treatment of metals, working with hot iron, and joining and decorating blacksmithing materials;
- know the technologies and techniques of machine metal cutting and know welding methods;
- know the principles of technical designs, construction, and wiring of light fixtures to a non-electrical light source
- understand current design trends and work with artistic creativity;
- create designs of simple, complicated, and highly complicated products and sets of products;
- make simple, complicated, and highly complicated products based on art designs;
- know the work procedures of making historical blacksmithing products;
- use suitable technological procedures for surface treatment;
- prepare complete documentation (artistic, technical, and technological) and know and respect relevant standards.
