3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate opinions and positions verbally and in writing, communicate in two other foreign languages;
  • study and work effectively, objectively evaluate own results;
  • adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
  • work with information, take advantage of information and communication technology;
  • apply the basic mathematical relations, physical and chemical laws when dealing with practical tasks;
  • know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
  • act in an environmentally-friendly manner and in accordance with a strategy for sustainable development;
  • apply the principles for health and safety at work, fire defence and fire prevention.

Vocational competences:

  • have knowledge and skills necessary for studying medical fields;
  • gain insight on different fields in healthcare and have an idea about the content and demands of university and college education preparing for different medical professions;
  • know the basic methods of scientific work and scientific and medical research;
  • apply natural science principles in solving problems related to the properties and behaviour of bioplasma and thus human health;
  • process and interpret, by himself/herself, the data acquired through observation, experiment and gauging of chemical, physical and biological processes that occur in life substances;
  • use professional terminology, in particular in general symptomatology;
  • efficiently work with ICT and apply the acquired skills and the information from professional literature in healthcare;
  • apply the knowledge in healthcare technology;
  • apply the theoretical knowledge in active health support and protection and understand the healthcare system.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The medical lyceum graduate is mainly ready for further studies of medical fields at medical, pharmaceutical, healthcare-social and other schools of universities and colleges.
Acquired key competences and completed education also create very good prerequisites to find a job in specific work positions, e.g. as an employee in healthcare administration, healthcare insurance and healthcare-social bodies of public administration.
