3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language;
  • effectively organize and manage and participate in a team, including the ability to lead a team and cope with problematic situations;
  • know how to use information and ICT, have basic ICT skills;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • read and use the technical documentation, draw sketches and diagrams of the individual parts and electrical circuits;
  • use the professional terminology typical for an electrician or for the pertinent area of application;
  • hand process metals and carry out the basic electrician's work, assembly work, maintenance of electric machines and equipment including removing simple faults;
  • choose and prepare material, tools, aids and assembly equipment, prepare the workplace;
  • carry out the basic work on metal machining tools (drills, lathes, routers);
  • perform the mechanical and electrical work connected to the assembly, adjustment, activation, running and diagnosing electrical equipment;
  • determine the electrical materials and individual circuit elements form the standpoint of the materials used and assess their properties from the standpoint of their other possible functions;
  • be familiar with the individual areas of electronics, have an overview of the electrical machines, devices and equipment and their applied use;
  • manage simple technical calculations using suitable tables and norms;
  • work with the basic elements and circuits for controlling simple automated processes;
  • know how to work with basic program applications on a PC;
  • manage the basic electrical measurements in practice, evaluate the results of these measurements.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate can find work as a mechanic for electrical facilities (after training also as an electrician, operations electrician, mechanical electrician etc.) in the area of maintenance, repairs, production, setting, services and servicing electrical equipment, including in the trade-technical area.
