3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language;
  • effectively organize and manage and participate in a team, including the ability to lead a team and cope with problematic situations;
  • know how to use information and ICT, have basic ICT skills;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • know basic electrotechnical work and wiring;
  • make and test the winding of electric machinery and equipment;
  • repair electric parts and electrical and mechanical defects of track cars;
  • utilise different types of electrotechnical documentation, diagrammatically display circuit elements and the wiring of electric device and equipment circuits;
  • understand functioning, communication and installation electrotechnical charts and manufacturing drawings and understand the importance of drawn relations;
  • install electric machinery and equipment and wire electric appliances and equipment;
  • maintain and test all types of electric machinery and equipment and gauge basic electric values;
  • use professional habits in assembling, installing and de-installing and repairing electric machinery, devices and equipment;
  • repair defects in electrotechnical equipment and restore its functioning;
  • know the basics of manual and mechanical processing of metals and regular technical materials.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate can work as an employee in maintenance, repair and production of electric machinery and devices. After having gained some necessary experience, the graduate shall be ready for private enterprising in the field.
Examples of possible jobs: electrician, electrical mechanic of track cars, electrician of traction equipment in railway transportation, etc.
