3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language;
- effectively organize and manage and participate in a team, including the ability to lead a team and cope with problematic situations;
- know how to use information and ICT, have basic ICT skills;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- know the history of art and art handicraft;
- know the technology of making products from precious metals and stones and other materials;
- work following each phase of technological procedures and focusing on accuracy;
- know specific work procedures on goldsmithing machines;
- apply relevant standards and regulations regarding assay marking and the protection of historical monuments;
- prepare primary documentation and jewellery drawings;
- decide on, and efficiently use, the suitable material for a concrete goldsmithing product or jewellery;
- prepare materials by rolling, pulling, bending, and folding;
- make settings for a variety of stones of different types of cutting and incorporate them in rings, earrings, etc;.
- make basic types of jewellery, one-stone rings, pendants, and earrings;
- make different types of chains and broaches and their closings as well as different types of link bracelets, including clasps and safety guards;
- know how to elaborate rings, e.g. Baroque rings, men's rings, and hollow rings;
- make jewellery using the jewellery technique;
- perform different types of jewellery surface treatment;
- repair different types of jewellery;
- take care of, and regularly maintain machines, tools, and aids;
- deal with customers appropriately.
