3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • communicate independently and fluently in mother tongue, give reason for his own attitude;
  • seek out essential information from the text and other sources;
  • understand the task and solve simple problems, find the information necessary for the solution;
  • work or learn under supervision with certain autonomy, apply basic rules and procedures;
  • cooperate with others when solving simple problems and situations;
  • apply basic mathematic skills to solve simple tasks;
  • work with a personal computer and its basic and application software;
  • apply principles of safety and health protection at work, fire protection and fire prevention;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • have a basic knowledge of career opportunities in the labor market and of the job search process.

Vocational competences:

Specialization in piano tuning:
  • tune grand piano with Viennese and English mechanics; tune pianos of different brands and constructions;
  • attune two instruments; operate tonality of the piano frame;
  • use correctly and in accordance with relevant working operations appropriate tools and instruments;
  • know the basic construction of the wings and pianos, detect and remove single mechanical malfunction of piano;
  • play the piano to the extent necessary for the presentation of the results of their work;
  • have knowledge of principles of professional behaviour.
Specialization on the musical cultural activities:
  • play at least one musical instrument with keyboard and master the basics of improvised accompaniment;
  • play a second musical instrument, use computer technology in the field of music;
  • participate in the preparation of musical performances at cultural or social event;
  • recognize simple mechanical defect on the piano, recognize the deficiency in its tuning;
  • cooperate in the removal of minor tuning deficiencies of the instrument or removal of small mechanical defects;
  • act professionally, work in a team.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
Graduates with specialization on tuning pianos can perform specific work in the area of piano tuning of various brands and constructions, including the performance of minor repair task
Graduates with specialization on musical and cultural activities can perform specific work in the area related to the preparation of musical performances at cultural and social events, including his/her own musical performance at these events or the leadership of non-professional company.
Examples of possible job positions: employee of manufacturing and service companies or in cultural institutions, arts agencies, etc.
