3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
  • understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
  • communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages; 
  • cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
  • be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;
  • work with the means of information and communication technologies, exploit adequate sources of information, handle information effectively;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • support values of local, national, European and world cultures, recognize the value of life;
  • exert fundamentals of health protection, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety;
  • exert norms and prescriptions in the field.

Vocational competences:

  • carry out physicotherapeutic procedures under the professional supervision of a specialist, i.e. perform classic massages;
  • apply heat (e.g. using Solux or paraffin), apply packs;
  • prepare and administer partial and full baths, including bath with additives, perform basic hydrotherapy treatments;
  • perform activities during the acceptance, check and storage of massage and other medical devices, incl. laundry, their disinfection and sterilization;
  • use compensatory (balancing) and regenerative exercises suitable for eliminating the consequences of debilitation in accordance with the patient’s state of health;
  • work with medical records and information system of medical facilities;
  • in all activities, ensure compliance with the hygiene and epidemiological regime in accordance with legal regulations;
  • work as a member of a medical team, ensure compliance with medical ethics, labour law standards and internal regulations and medical facility standards.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate can find employment in inpatient or outpatient medical facilities when providing rehabilitation, curative and spa care, or in social service facilities. They are able to provide classical massages, apply heat, provide packs, baths and basic hydrotherapy treatments under the professional supervision of a physiotherapist or a doctor specializing in the field of rehabilitation and physical medicine, within the competencies set by the Decree No. 55/2011 Coll., as amended.
