3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:

General competences has been acquired under previous education.

Vocational competences:

  • have knowledge of the art history, particularly in relation to the development of artistic craft;
  • use basic art expression techniques for working in the field;
  • read technical drawings and workshop sketches;
  • master processes and traditional techniques for creating and completion of ceramic products;
  • set schedule for individual working operations and maintain compliance of separate stages in the workflow when working with the material;
  • prepare raw mixtures for creating and refining products;
  • create products by throwing on a potter's wheel, shaping into plaster moulds, pouring into the casting mould;
  • use techniques of decoration under the glaze, into the glaze and on the glaze;
  • produce plaster moulds and plaster models;
  • create ceramic products according to drawing documentation, original designs or graphic designs with appropriate technological methods and techniques;
  • carry out drying and firing products;
  • create and finish products with respect to their functionality, wholesome and aesthetic design;
  • carry out quality control of raw materials, intermediate products and final products;
  • use the relevant conservation standards and regulations;
  • process the initial and subsequent documentation for the specific job;
  • service and perform routine maintenance of machinery, equipment, tools and instruments.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate is employed in the field of making individual and serial handicraft products applied and decorative ceramics.
Examples of possible jobs: art ceramicist.
