3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- take responsibility for completion of tasks in work or study;
- adapt own behaviour to circumstances in solving problems;
- be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
- understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
- communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least A2+ of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
- be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;
- work with the means of information and communication technologies, exploit adequate sources of information, handle information effectively;

Vocational competences:
- have knowledge of the art history, particularly in relation to the development of artistic craft;
- use basic art expression techniques for working in the field;
- read technical drawings and workshop sketches;
- master processes and traditional techniques for creating and completion of artistic blacksmithing and locksmithing, artificial jewellery making;
- set the schedule for individual working operations and maintain compliance of separate stages in the workflow when working with the material;
- choose appropriate types of materials and equipment for manufacturing a specific product with adequate functional and aesthetic characteristics;
- create decorative and utility items from the metal, including surface treatment, according to the drawings, original designs or graphic designs with appropriate technological methods and techniques, following the specialization of the education;
- when manufacturing handicraft work ensure aesthetic design of the final product and precise elaboration;
- use the relevant standards and regulations in the field of conservation;
- perform repair and reconstruction of damaged parts of the original work;
- prepare the initial and subsequent documentation for specific work, apply the appropriate methods of preservation;
- service and perform routine maintenance of machinery, equipment, tools and instruments;
- be professionally prepared to obtain the permission for one type welding, i.e. be prepared to pass the examination before the commissioner in the range of the effective exchange rate for welding in protective atmosphere or for welding with wrapped electrode or for welding with technical gases.
