3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
- understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
- communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
- be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;
- work with the means of information and communication technologies, exploit adequate sources of information, handle information effectively;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- support values of local, national, European and world cultures, recognize the value of life;
- exert fundamentals of health protection, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety;

Vocational competences:
- have knowledge of the historical development of culture and arts and crafts;
- handle basic techniques of art expression;
- use the knowledge of the historical development of the art of music and musical instruments in his work; utilize the knowledge of acoustics;
- care for the sound quality of the stringed musical instrument and the aesthetic design of stringed musical instruments in the spirit of historical periods;
- work out technical drawings and a complete technical documentation for the construction of a particular musical instrument in accordance with the applicable standards and aspects of technical aesthetics;
- use specific application software for graphic representation and visualization of spatial (3D) objects;
- handle traditional technological processes and techniques, principles of the construction of stringed musical instruments and be able to prepare their production;
- set a schedule of work operations, attend to the conformity of individual stages of the workflow in the execution in the material and attend to the precision of execution;
- choose appropriate types of basic and auxiliary materials for the fabrication of a particular musical instrument with the appropriate functional and aesthetic parameters with respect to the wholesomeness of the product;
- build stringed musical instrument according to drawings or graphic designs with suitable technological processes and techniques including surface treatment;
- apply relevant standards and regulations in the field of conservation;
- carry out repairs and reconstruction of the original stringed instruments;
- comply with the technological discipline.
