3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
- understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
- communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
- be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;
- work with the means of information and communication technologies, exploit adequate sources of information, handle information effectively;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- support values of local, national, European and world cultures, recognize the value of life;
- exert fundamentals of health protection, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety;

Vocational competences:
- monitor compliance with animal hygiene conditions in the breeding of animals;
- apply a positive and responsible attitude to animals, ensure animal welfare when working with animals;
- organize and carry out rearing and breeding of individual species and categories of animals, including laboratory and experimental animals;
- assist in veterinary interventions in the animal breeding and veterinary practices;
- assist in administration of medicines and veterinary products;
- heal sick and injured animals under the guidance of a veterinarian;
- take biological samples and perform sub-tests;
- carry out insemination, remove and investigate with appropriate methods the semen;
- control the methods for detecting gestation period, help with the bear and treat animals after delivery; ensure disinfection, disinsection and deratization;
- provide the health inspection of animals for slaughter and test meat in slaughterhouses and at home defeats;
- assess the sanitary conditions and ensure sanitary requirements for obtaining and processing raw materials of animal origin;
- provide veterinary care and protection of human and animal health against diseases caused by harmful food, feed and raw materials of animal origin;
- carry out evaluating and assessing activities in the purchase of animals for slaughter;
- take samples and perform basic laboratory tests of food and raw materials of animal origin;
- ensure food hygiene and sanitation facilities;
- competent to drive motor vehicles class B.
