3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- take responsibility for completion of tasks in work or study;
- adapt own behaviour to circumstances in solving problems;
- be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
- understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
- communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least A2+ of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
- be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;
- work with the means of information and communication technologies, exploit adequate sources of information, handle information effectively;

Vocational competences:
- have knowledge of the art history, particularly in relation to the development of artistic craft;
- use basic art expression techniques for working in the field;
- read technical drawings and workshop sketches;
- master processes and traditional techniques for creating and completion of ceramic products;
- set schedule for individual working operations and maintain compliance of separate stages in the workflow when working with the material;
- prepare raw mixtures for creating and refining products;
- create products by throwing on a potter's wheel, shaping into plaster moulds, pouring into the casting mould;
- use techniques of decoration under the glaze, into the glaze and on the glaze;
- produce plaster moulds and plaster models;
- create ceramic products according to drawing documentation, original designs or graphic designs with appropriate technological methods and techniques;
- carry out drying and firing products,
- create and finish products with respect to their functionality, wholesome and aesthetic design;
- carry out quality control of raw materials, intermediate products and final products;
- use the relevant conservation standards and regulations;
- process the initial and subsequent documentation for the specific job;
- service and perform routine maintenance of machinery, equipment, tools and instruments.
