3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
- understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
- communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
- be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;
- work with the means of information and communication technologies, exploit adequate sources of information, handle information effectively;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- support values of local, national, European and world cultures, recognize the value of life;
- exert fundamentals of health protection, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety;
- exert norms and prescriptions in the field.
Vocational competences:
- have knowledge of the historical development and current trends in visual culture and artistic creation;
- work with the traditional and new materials used in applied painting, manage their properties and expressive potentiality, select appropriate combination thereof;
- use tools and equipment for decorative painting techniques;
- have an overview of the types of mural painting, know the painting techniques used when making paintings to be hanged on the wall and mural paintings;
- manage the traditional and modern technological procedures, select a suitable procedure for the performance of the given task;
- manage the fundamentals and principles of composition in forming a piece of art;
- propose colour and decorative compositions for interior and exterior decoration in set techniques;
- work out design of a painting to be hanged on the wall for a particular interior or a copy of an old master;
- work out the detail of large-scale murals and decorative art composition according to the draft;
- manage the basic methods of cleaning and conserving of paintings and wall paintings;
- justify the selected art solution, including used methods;
- select suitable techniques, technological procedures and the corresponding materials on the basis of an analysis of the task given;
- use graphic programs for processing graphic designs and their implementation.
