3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- take responsibility for completion of tasks in work or study;
- adapt own behaviour to circumstances in solving problems;
- be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
- understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
- communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least A2+ of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
- be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;

Vocational competences:
- carry out glasswork according to material and technical standards;
- cut different types of glass, including wired glass, laminated safety glass and mirrors, both by hand and on a machine; work up glass mechanically;
- glaze objects with different types of glass; frame, glaze and put passe-partout on paintings, select types of fillers and sealants;
- manufacture and install double glazing units with air and gas filler, manufacture double glazing units in wood, plastic and metal profiles with glazing bars;
- maintain and repair glasswork construction;
- store, handle and transport flat glass;
- select and use materials for glazing and prepare them for processing;
- draft workflow of glassworks;
- measure and specify the size of glass for glazing of the constructions;
- assess optimal working conditions for glazing;
- select, use and maintain tools, equipment, machinery, labour and handling equipment;
- prepare and organize work, determine the need for material and staff;
- work with the technical documentation; work out and read glasswork sketches and drawings;
- carry out calculations of material consumption.
