3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

General competences:

be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
communicate in one foreign language at level B1 and in another foreign language at the level of at least A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;
work with the means of information and communication technologies, exploit adequate sources of information, handle information effectively;
act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
support values of local, national, European and world cultures, recognize the value of life;
exert fundamentals of health protection, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety;

know the basic economic characteristics of countries, regions, and continents and apply this knowledge in foreign languages;
identify the transportation routes, transportation means, and operation equipment;
monitor the circulation of transportation means;
connect through and optimize public transport;
monitor effectiveness of the management systems of individual means of transport;
use ICT application software aimed at transport;
organize the transport of passengers with regard to social regulations in transport;
handle the basics of traffic marketing;
organize the transport of goods in national and international transport in individual types transport;
operate communication, security and other transport technology and equipment;
distinguish basic transport and handling systems in logistics and use them in practise;
use communication, security and other transport technology and equipment;
use modern technology and information systems in the identification of goods;
use optimization methods in solving logistics chains;
understand the new trends of combined transport and their usage.

4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE

The graduate is employed in the positions of technical-administrative personnel in the operation, management and business-economic activities in specific types of transport and in the professions within the whole transport system. Graduates gained prerequisites to find employment in the management of transport infrastructure in the Czech Republic and EU.
Examples of possible jobs: independent technician, operation manager or specialist of road, railway, air, public and inland waterway transport, logistician in transportation and shipping, forwarding agent.
