| 3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- take responsibility for completion of tasks in work or study;
- adapt own behaviour to circumstances in solving problems;
- be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
- understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
- communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least A2+ of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
- be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;
- work with the means of information and communication technologies, exploit adequate sources of information, handle information effectively;

Vocational competences:
- have knowledge of the art history, particularly in relation to the development of artistic craft;
- use basic art expression techniques for working in the field;
- read technical drawings and workshop sketches;
- decide on the choice of a suitable material for a particular goldsmith and jewellery product and use it efficiently;
- prepare the material by rolling, drawing, bending and twisting;
- master processes and traditional techniques for manufacturing products from precious metals, stones and other materials
- set the schedule for individual working operations and maintain compliance of separate stages in the workflow when working with the material;
- know specific job-control procedures used in jewellery machines;
- produce various kinds of casting stones, produce basic kinds of jewellery, rings with one stone, drapes and earrings;
- produce various types of small chains, brooches and their closures, articulated bracelets including stately homes and fuses;
- control the production of complex rings and jewels with jewellery technique;
- carry out surface treatment of products and finalize products with regard to the desired functional and aesthetic characteristics;
- when manufacturing goldsmith and jewellery work ensure aesthetic design of the final product and precise elaboration;
- carry out repairs of jewels, use the relevant standards and regulations in the field of hallmarking and conservation;
- service and perform routine maintenance of machinery, equipment, tools and instruments;
- prepare the initial and subsequent documentation for the specific job;
- deal appropriately with the customer.
