3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
- understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
- communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
- be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;
- work with the means of information and communication technologies, exploit adequate sources of information, handle information effectively;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- support values of local, national, European and world cultures, recognize the value of life;

Vocational competences:
- ensure natural partly assisted and assisted spawning, ensure reproduction, rearing of fry and market valued fish in intensive culture, design stocking ponds with regard to their nature and the mission of different small water reservoirs;
- design and maintain appropriate technological process of breeding for the given species and age category of fish and other aquatic organisms, assess the growth and health of the fish and suggest preventive and curative measures;
- provide control activities aimed to protect fishery buildings against damage and to protect aquatic animals from alienation, predators and toxicosis;
- ensure planting of mixed stock, haul, transport and relaying fish, observe the principles of careful manipulation with fish;
- carry out the analysis of water, perform interventions on fishponds to optimize production and water quality and assess the impacts of interventions on the aquatic environment;
- comply with the technological procedure for processing fish, store fish products, perform and manage fish processing activities in accordance with regulations ensuring food safety and quality;
- carry out hatching, rearing, breeding and fattening of waterfowl, ensure breeding work in accordance with the applicable regulations of fish farming and waterfowl breeding;
- carry out activities of fish keeper in the performance of fishing rights in fishing grounds;
- plant fish in open waters, maintain a suitable species biodiversity;
- design and use of machinery and equipment for the different stages of the technological process in fish and waterfowl breeding and fish processing, design and control maintenance of water management works (technical and safety supervision);
- manipulate the technical equipment waterworks according handling and operating rules;
- carry out maintenance and drive motor vehicles of groups T, B.
