3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- take responsibility for completion of tasks in work or study;
- adapt own behaviour to circumstances in solving problems;
- be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
- understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
- communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least A2+ of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
- be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;

Vocational competences:
- distinguish, classify and label engineering materials;
- describe and explain processes of production of pig iron and steel;
- manage running technological processes, control its course and results, perform eligible corrections;
- choose appropriate working equipment, tools, instruments and work with power tools;
- read technical drawings, work instructions etc., know the professional terminology;
- distinguish between basic engineering component, machines, equipments and mechanisms, know their function;
- perform regular maintenance of metallurgical equipment and collaborate on their repairs;
- know the basic methods of hand metal treatments, metal tooling and perform basic assembly works;
- use lifting and handling equipment in transferring metallurgical semi-products;
- prepared for oxygen cutting and gouging (ZP 311 - 2 W01).
Vocational competences specific for technological field of metallurgical production of metal:
- operate metallurgical equipment for metal production and metallurgical processing;
- collaborate on processes in chemical laboratory and metallographic laboratory;
- prepare batch in scrap yard and in agglomeration;
- maintain operational documentation of melting process.
Vocational competences specific for technological field of metallurgical shaping of metal:
- heat semi-products in various types of heat furnaces;
- operate shaping machines in the production of metallurgical products;
- perform simple mechanical tests of metallurgical semi-products, take samples and hand them over to laboratory;
- operate and set equipment in the preparation plants of metallurgical products;
- correct surface defects of metallurgical products;
- maintain operational documentation of shaping process;
- operate auxiliary equipment of metallurgical shaping machines;
- check the measurements of rolled products and classify them.
