3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
  • understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
  • communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages; 
  • cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
  • be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;
  • work with the means of information and communication technologies, exploit adequate sources of information, handle information effectively;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • support values of local, national, European and world cultures, recognize the value of life;
  • exert fundamentals of health protection, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety;
  • exert norms and prescriptions in the field.

Vocational competences:

  • project textiles, process the technical documentation to their manufacture, apply aesthetic feeling and creatively use new materials and processes when projecting textiles;
  • analyze the quality of textile products and process the results in the form of protocols;
  • work in team when creating technological processes and when amending production dispositions, follow the fashion trends and use information resources;
  • work with the technical documentation for assigning tasks to workers in the production of textiles, in the implementation of control processes and in case of operational decision-making in the production of textiles;
  • make linear or area textiles in at least one of the areas of production (spinning, weaving, knitting, fabric finishing);
  • work in a team in the implementation of technological processes, monitor compliance therewith and progress of manufacturing operations;
  • assess the impact of processed materials and used procedures on the desired properties of textiles;
  • check the quality of the different sections of the production of textiles and work in team in the development of control procedures and quality system;
  • organize the division of tasks among workers, prepare documentation to determine costing and payroll;
  • work in team to organize production activities and ensure the smooth supply of processed material;
  • monitor compliance with the occupational safety and health at work and fire prevention;
  • keep operating records and documentation, participate in the development and application of standards and norms of labour consumption in textile manufacturing;
  • work in team in the analysis of production possibilities of the textile company.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate is employed in the middle management positions in the field of textile industry in work activities related to the management of small business segments in the production of textiles, in the textile companies and in the preparation of the production of textiles, outside of the production of textiles as commodity expert and in the purchase and sale of textile materials and fabrics.
Examples of possible job positions: textile technologist - master, textile technician - dispatcher (production coder), textile engineer technologist in the production operation, the operator of the textile industry, textile quality technician, standardiser, textile technician - technologist and textile design technician in the technical production of textiles, etc.
