3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- know different types, properties and use of different materials;
- know the basic types of textile;
- know the different types of fabrics, evaluate the technical parameters of fabrics and determine whether they should be used;
- know the weaves and weaving techniques of dobby and jacquard fabrics, including cross sections;
- prepare technical documentation for weaves;
- know the principles of technological procedures of fabrics, including colour patterns;
- know dying techniques;
- know the principles of making and creating woven fabrics;
- design simple as well as artistically sophisticated textile artefacts, using hand-weaving techniques;
- prepare technical documentation for realisation of art designs;
- make fabrics using weaving frames, handlooms and mechanical looms and weaving machines;
- realise art designs of simple as well as unique hand-woven textile artefacts;
- push forth and use new non-traditional ways of hand-weaving;
- use applicable software in creating art designs and technical documentation;
- act professionally with customers and work and business partners;
- put together and present collections of his/her designs and products at exhibitions and fairs.
